AmeriCorps Member Position

Type of Position: AmeriCorps Member      

Date: September 15th 2015 -August 31st 2016 

Where: Alderson, West Virginia

 

Summary: Spend a year in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Summers Counties, receiving hands on experience, working for the Friends of the Lower Greenbrier River.  You will perform various tasks from educational programs to water quality testing.


Qualifications:

-Self-motivated

-Good communication skills

-Ability to work independently

-Ability to meet deadlines

-Ability to interact and engage with people on a daily basis


Duties and Responsibilities:

-Assist with day to day operations in the Friends of the Lower Greenbrier River office

-Interact with community members

-Assist with grant writing and proposals

-Take water quality samples and analyze results

-Help plan and participate in fundraising events

-Continued implement of educational programs

-Communicate with social media on a weekly basis


The following skills are desired but not required:

-Experience in K-12 education; experience in community development

-Assist with volunteer recruitment

-General computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access)
